Literature Text

Empty words
on an empty night
lost in translation
inside shallow eyes
too deaf are the ears
that refuse to listen
too cold the heart
that refuses to care
you wander around
as if a ghost
can they see you
or do they ignore
blind to your suffering
and the need to be
too simple minded
like rats in a maze
walking as if in a dream
the lights slowly dim
soon to blink out
and you, will be alone
what keeps you burning
little flame
careful as they pass
you'll be snuffed out

forgotten, untouched
you wither
like a flower not cared for
you are overgrown by weeds
struggling to be seen
blindfolded they all are
to you're beauty
looking down on you
pity stains their face
wipe it away
is all you wish
you want not pity
but respect
selfish is their trend
as they walk over you
just another stone in their shoe

Reaching for the light
the never ending struggle
to fight what we can't accept
it will eat you up
fighting chains that pull
forcing you deeper, and deeper
tearing
your flesh
your heart
your soul
till you are what you feel
tiny, insignificant, worthless
a true grain of sand
in and endless hourglass
turned over and over
a flow that never stops
cycles that seem forever
the snake that swallows it's tail
dreams to be crushed
beneath feet, hunched shoulders
that once supported them
weight to quickly thrown
like trash from a passing car
to be once again forgotten
to rot
become nothing
no-one
nobody
this is a poem i wrote out of the blue thanks for the help editing it!

These are really dark and beautiful words. I don't know if I can explain why I like this piece....I just do. It flows really well and just sucked me into it. Wonderfully written.
